This illustrated pull-up banner continues my work with Kildare County Council on the Kildare Biodiversity Action Plan 2025–2030. After creating the illustrations and designing the plan, I was commissioned to produce a new set of species illustrations for a banner for the Council’s biodiversity awareness and outreach activities.
The banner features a selection of species suggested by the Council, including the yellowhammer, marsh fritillary, golden plover, native orchids, sundew and other peatland plants, otter, salmon and white-clawed crayfish. Together, they represent some of the wildlife and plants associated with Kildare’s varied natural habitats, from peatlands and wetlands to rivers, grasslands and woodlands.
The banner extends the visual work developed for the Biodiversity Action Plan into a format that can be used at public events and community activities, helping draw attention to the species that share our landscape and the habitats they depend on.
