Our Local Birds is an illustrated information board exploring the different feeding habits of seven familiar European bird species: magpie, robin, blue tit, crow, wood pigeon, goldfinch and blackbird.
Supported by Dún Laoghaire County Council in 2020, the project combines detailed wildlife illustration with clear, accessible information design. Each bird is shown alongside information about what it eats and how it feeds, helping viewers discover less obvious differences between species they may encounter in their everyday surroundings.
The illustrations were drawn and the board designed by Aga Grandowicz, bringing together natural history illustration and graphic design to create an engaging piece of public-facing biodiversity interpretation.
